To combat the negative misperceptions of New Orleans being disseminated by national media outlets, Councilman Fielkow and Tulane University President Scott Cowen, co-founded the Fleur-de-lis Ambassador Program. The program is comprised of a group of local influential leaders who spread the message via city visits that New Orleans is an economically viable, livable city with a long-range recovery plan in progress; and to seek additional support in our recovery from business and philanthropic organizations.
While this program was greatly successful, today we have a number of thriving community and philanthropic organizations right in our own backyard. What follows is a list of local non-profits, business development organizations, and other groups dedicated to the common goal of helping our city to grow and thrive. But they need your help.
Please, browse the directory below, find a cause or organization that matters most to you and take the time to get involved.
